The Project Managers are the primary in-house contact for the client. They oversee scheduling, budget monitoring, contract write-up, quality control and over-all project supervision. It is the Project Managers who juggle the schedule, the art and the budget and direct these sometimes-conflicting elements into a cohesive, high-quality project. Hardwood, softwood, fabric, high-tec plastics, flooring, carpeting, vacu-formed moulds, cast decorative pieces – our carpenters have experience working with a wide variety of materials. Led by a Lead Carpenter, who acts as the project foreman on the shop floor, our team of in-house carpenters picks up from the welders and manifest form from a designer’s vision into physical reality. Customized decorative elements, carved, sculpted or cast detailing, shopped items; custom upholstery and actor/ public interactive units are just some of the tasks assigned to our talented sculptors and props builders who work under the direction of the Lead Scenic Artist. In-house construction drawings, technical manuals and other administrative requests can all be accommodated as needed. Our skilled welding crews work from shop drawings and client specifications to create shape and structure for projects. Trained to work with a variety of materials our welders use their knowledge of fluxes and base metals to analyse, plan and execute welds maintaining the highest quality and safety standards. Our capable Lead Electrician supervises the construction and integration of lighting, sound, moving components, pneumatic actuators, winch motors and many other types of electronic components to projects. Project engineering requirements are accomplished using a third-party consultant who is familiar with the industry and the varied work we do. For any installation our Shop Foreman and/ or the Lead Scenic Artist can be available for on-site consultation requirements. In all cases the project Manager maintains supervision through contact with the installation consultant(s) and the client. When it comes to the feel and look of a project our Lead Scenic Artist operates as our in-house art director, and works closely with the designer and the shop project-team to bring the scenery to life. Painted backdrops, replicated antique finishes, sleek, modern lines, turn of the century traditionalism, whether it wants to feel 5 days old or 100 years old, like a Paris opera house, or a southern jungle our scenic artists can create it. Drafting and Documentation: In-house construction drawings, technical
manuals and other administrative requests can all be accommodated as needed. |
